EM Products
EM 
EM is the most common effective microorganisms product for horticultural use. It can be used straight from the bottle, or it can be activated first. This product contains additional purple photosynthetic microbes, which Dr. Higa has repeatedly named the most important microbes in effective microorganisms.
If you have previously bought 'EM Plus' from me, this is what you bought. The price from the manufacturer came down and it is a superior product, so this is the only mother culture I am carrying.
Already Activated
If you don't want to go through the process of activating the EM, you can buy it already activated. Not only is it less expensive, but many of the microbes have recently been awakened from dormancy, so it is of equal or maybe even better quality for application purposes.
I take the EM mother culture and activate it using my recipe below (plus some additional ingredients) to produce a very high quality activated EM. It is used the same as regular EM. Activated EM cannot reliably be re-activated, so if you are planning on activating, purchase EM mother culture (i.e. EM).
EM Herbal Probiotic Drink
This product contains probiotic bacteria and 19 organic aromatic herbs to replenish the body with healthy microbes. The recommended dose is 1-3 tablespoons a day. This goes beyond yogurt and other common probiotic foods because of the incredible mix of highly beneficial microbes that are found in EM (of course, many of the foods are still incredibly beneficial).
I will not make any claims on the efficacy of this product compared to other probiotics, as human nutrition is not my area of expertise, but I have clients who have received some incredible benefits from using it. Also, when comparing it with some of the best probiotics on the market, I see that the list of microorganisms is very similar.
The ingredients are: Purified water, blackstrap molasses, fructose, probiotic lactic acid cultures, fruit juice, anise, licorice root, fennel, basil, chamomile, chervil, dill, elder, fenugreek, ginger root, angelica, juniper, nettle, oregano, parsley, peppermint, rosemary, sage, thyme, and reishi mushroom.
Activation
EM can be activated, a 3-5 week process (or longer) by which 1 part EM (mixed with 1 part molasses and 20 parts water) is fermented to increase your quantity of EM by approximately 20 times. The resulting activated EM (AEM) is used the same as regular EM.
It has traditionally been done for economical reasons (to save money), but it can also improve the efficacy of the EM, primarily because it wakes up dormant microbes. It sounds a bit overwhelming at first, but it is actually easy and very fun! You don't have to do it, but I recommend it if you will be using a lot of EM, as it will save you money. Alternatively, you can order it already activated by me up above.

Organic Blackstrap Molasses
Organic Blackstrap Molasses is the ideal molasses for this process. It is made from the final stage of the sugar cane boiling process, and it is lower in sugar and higher in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants than other molasses products and other sources of sugar.
Activation instructions from both the manufacturer and me are listed below. My instructions are very similar, but I go into more detail and include a list of extra ingredients and some important tips in the brewing and storage time periods that are based on in-depth research and can significantly improve the activation.
