Biostimulants

Biostimulants are materials that stimulate biological processes, resulting in healthier microorganisms, better soil, and improved plant growth, even when applied in small quantities. They often contain a mixture of many nutrients, plant hormones, vitamins, amino acids, and other bioactive substances. They bring many, many different benefits to the garden. 

Many of the products in the biostimulant category could also be listed in the mineral category, and vice versa.They are often applied with microorganisms to provide the microbes with food and to stimulate their soil activities. Here is a neat little description of biostimulants.
